We are pleased to introduce TripleEco28 glazing across our Crafted solid timber window and door ranges, making Allan Brothers one of the first British manufacturers to offer this new ultra-light form of triple glazing
TripleEco28 delivers the thermal performance of 40mm triple glazing in a 28mm profile while also being 24% lighter than standard triple glazing.
Its innovative design means we can offer our popular Crafted windows and doors with larger glazed areas and lower U-values, comfortably exceeding current UK Building Regulations.
Excellent thermal performance
TripleEco28 glazing has a glass U-value (Ug) of 0.8. That’s 20% more energy-efficient than standard 28mm triple glazing, which typically averages around 1.0 Ug, and is on a par with most traditional 40mm argon-filled triple glazing.
- Monolithic Glass Core
Unlike most conventional triple glazing, which uses three panes of glass of equal thickness (4mm-4mm-4mm), TripleEco28 incorporates a thinner central core of 1.1mm. This allows wider 10mm and 9mm cavities to be filled with more argon gas to improve insulation. - Dual Low-E Heat Shield
Whereas traditional triple glazing typically has just one Low-E coating, TripleEco28 has two. These act as a double heat shield, reflecting internal warmth back into your home, while warm-edge spacers help reduce heat loss at the frame edge. - Solar-Control
The Low-E coating on the outer pane has a Gg-value of 0.345, blocking approximately 65% of solar heat gain from entering the home.
Lighter windows, larger glazed areas
With its slim Monolithic Glass Core, TripleEco28 weighs just 22.8 kg per m², compared to approximately 30 kg/m² for standard triple glazing.
This 24% reduction in weight helps overcome some of the structural limitations associated with heavier triple glazing. It allows us to offer larger, energy-efficient glazed areas without significant modifications to our existing frame designs.
The reduced weight also makes our windows and doors easier for installers and contractors to handle and fit on-site.
Homeowners can enjoy wider views and let in more light without compromising energy efficiency. With a colour rendering index (Ra) of 95.3, the glass also allows daylight entering the home to appear clear and natural.
Toughened and laminated glass options are also available for installations requiring additional security and improved noise reduction.
