We’re delighted to announce that Allan Brothers has scooped the ‘Employer of the Year’ prize in the 2024 ‘Best of Northumberland’ Awards
This prestigious award, organised by National World, recognises companies in the region that have shown commitment to the development and welfare of their employees and to creating a fulfilling work environment with good staff relations, retention and training opportunities.
Managing Director Morten Bach Valsted said:
“We have put a lot of effort into creating a positive and supportive work environment where all our staff feel listened to, are rewarded for their efforts and have the opportunity to better themselves and their careers.
“Earlier this year we pledged to pay all staff the ‘Real Living Wage’, we have increased opportunities to train and upskill and I’m very proud to say that the company achieved 80% satisfaction in the latest ‘Great Place to Work’ employee trust survey, (up from 64% satisfaction score in the previous year).”
The judges’ comments were:
“We were impressed with the Allan Brothers’ positive approach to employee relations. There were so many examples of support and development, from the company’s Medicash and Cyclescheme membership, its commitment to delivering training opportunities through to the management’s open-door policy and even a pie/pastie lunch for all staff on the last Friday of every month!”
This latest success follows Allan Brothers’ recent win in the Northumberland & Tyneside regional heat of the 2024 North East Business Awards in the ‘Made in the North East’ category, which recognises excellence in manufacturing and production, and how it contributes to the wider economy.
Earlier this year we were also delighted to see our star apprentice Rafal Krzeminski, win the ‘Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year’ category of the 2024 North East Apprenticeship Awards, which celebrates the achievements of some of the region’s most talented apprentices and the employers, colleges and training providers who provide those opportunities.
“These accolades are a fantastic recognition of our progress to date and a testament to the hard work and effort everyone has put into improving every aspect of the company,” said Morten Bach Valsted.
