All Scotdoors styles feature a bonded composite construction comprising: 6mm
hardwood veneered laminated sheeting. 0.3mm aluminium plate. 48mm insulated
core.
This balanced construction gives a high degree of stability, the aluminium
providing an effective moisture barrier. The insulating core provides
exceptional U-value (0.84) and significantly reduces the effects of
temperature differential - the most common cause of door failure.
The frame can be constructed from quality redwood or hardwood. Redwood is
the standard.
