and the following pressure class ratings:

Frame Soles

Windows are supplied with flush soles as standard. 25, 45, 62 and 87mm timber sole extensions are also available on request.

Please note that, in the event of windows in a reveal situation requiring a sole extension, the amount that the extension will need to be cut back from each end of the window to the depth of the reveal should be clearly specified.

Cases

The windows are supplied with 95mm wide inside facings forming an open pulley box to suit reveal openings. Boxed mullions with continuous head and soles, 153mm wide to suit 6 inch imperial stone mullions, are standard, although wider ones can be made to order. If required, 110mm wide outside facings (95mm from daylight) external mullion plates can be provided.

Construction

As standard, the windows are made from quality redwood. A hardwood option is also available.

The range is constructed from generously proportioned timber sections.

Security

Designed to score an A+ rating to meet and exceed the requirements of BS 7950 - Enhanced security for windows in private dwellings, this range offers a stronger and more effective deterrent to would-be burglars and vandals than ever before.

This, also combined with the assurance of quality, styling and attention to detail makes the A-Series the perfect choice for those who are concerned with security.

Security locking by shoot-bolt espagnolette system with 6 locking points.

High performance security glazing features double sided tape with a silicone infill around the unit and secured with our glazing system.

Finish

Finish

Allan Brothers' products are treated with preservative after all machining. This is applied by means of a double vacuum process in accordance with BS8417 and NHBC recommendations.

Our water-based coatings are carefully formulated to seal the end-grain against moisture ingress, inhibit tannin stain and give the timber a quality look and feel.

Ventilation

All ventilators comply with current building regulations: Approved Document F England & Wales and Scottish Building Standards Section 3.

Pulleys

Brass wheel pulleys with mirror finish polished brass face plates are fitted as standard. Ball bearing pulleys with mirror finished polished brass faceplates, for a smoother vertically sliding action are fitted as standard.

Fasteners

As standard, one brass non-locking fitch fastener is fitted to the meeting rails and two brass hook lifts to the lower sash rail. On request, most other recognised fittings can be provided.

Security devices

Can be fitted if required and, as a minimum, we recommend one face fixed 'sash lock' and strike plate fitted with detachable key.

Optionally, for improved security, two such devices can be fitted, whilst most other available patterns can also be supplied and fitted on request.

Cleaning facilities

Special ironmongery can be fitted to cord and weight windows to allow safe cleaning of the sash window from inside the building.

When asked to fit such ironmongery, we provide batten rods that are completely detachable, by means of two thumb screws, on the opening side. Alternatively, if required, the batten rods can be hinged.

Colours

These are our standard colours, however we can provide your windows and doors in any RAL colour.

Glazing

A fully drained and vented glazing system is used for improved performance and insulation and timber beads are fitted all round to simulate a traditional putty line.

Black or white glazing tapes are available to suit the particular window finish.

Specialist glazing, e.g., argon filled, patterned or laminated glass can be fitted if required, to provide additional insulation and/or security. A range of glazing bars and astragals can also be fitted on request.
