Door Specification
All our Patio Doors come with the option of being French opening or traditional sliding.
They are supplied fully assembled to ensure quick and accurate installation.
Performance
Our doors are A+ rated on the BRE Green Guide and approved to:
- BS 6375 Part 1
- E 2500 exposure category
We also manufacture to the following pressure class ratings:
- Air Permeability: 600Pa
- Water Tightness: 1,950Pa
- Wind Resistance: 2,500Pa
Our windows are factory-fitted with dual weather-strips which give a water-tight seal and a high level of energy efficiency.
An 'A' energy rating is available for its high thermal performance, and is available with triple glazing for even more insulation.

Our patio and french doors can be manufactured within the following width parameters:
Sliding Frame
1,500mm(min) - 2,900mm(max)
French Frame
1,200mm(min) - 2,000mm(max)

Construction
Manufactured as standard from laminated redwood, selected for its durability and attractive appearance, these doors combine good looks with peace of mind.
Alternatively, if required, the door and frame can be made from quality hardwood.
All timbers are preservative & treated after all machining in accordance with BS8417.
As standard we supply special low level thresholds for wheelchair access in accordance with: Approved Document M England & Wales and the Scottish Building Standards - Section 4.
Alternative threshold options are available to suit most situations in accordance with BS8417.
Security
Sliding Doors
The combination of double rebated frame sections, double gaskets, four point espagnolette locking, anti-lift device and security glazing makes these doors highly resistant to forced entry.
French Style Doors
The combination of 56mm finished thickness security hinges, concealed three-point espagnolette with dead bolt, concealed slip bolts to the fixed leaf and security glazing ensures these doors are also highly resistant to forced entry.

Finish
Allan Brothers' products are treated with preservative after all machining. This is applied by means of a double vacuum process in accordance with BS8417 and NHBC recommendations.
Our water-based coatings are carefully formulated to seal the end-grain against moisture ingress, inhibit tannin stain and give the timber a quality look and feel.
Ironmongery
This window is fitted with a stainless steel adjustable friction hinge which allows opening to 60° for easy cleaning.
It is also available with a restrictor to limit initial opening of the window to under 100mm in accordance with BS 8213 Part 1:2004. In addition, an egress hinge which allows opening to 90° can be fitted to meet regulations for emergency access and egress.
Ventilators
Ventilators are fitted as standard within the frame head to eliminate the need for a vulnerable and unsightly external hood.
All ventilators comply with current building regulations: Approved Document F England & Wales and Scottish Building Standards Section 3.
Colours
These are our standard colours, however we can provide your windows and doors in any RAL colour.
Glazing
Both our door systems have 40 x 20mm glazing rebates to ensure that the 22mm (4/14/4) Sofcoat 'Low E' toughened glazing units, which are fitted as standard, have adequate ventilation around their perimeters.
The beading is secured using Allan Brothers' fixing system to enhance product integrity and appearance.
